Did you see the movie Avatar? If you have not then go and see it, you would be doing yourself a favor.
When I went to see the film, all the audience in the theatre CHEERED and CLAPPED when the sympathetic humans decided to go and aid the inhabitants. The Audience went into a joyous frenzy when the inhabitants finally WON and managed to kill half the marines and the miners and destroyed the machines, space ships, buildings and equipment of the corporation.
Here is my question to you….if you saw the movie….did you cheer too? ….do you think that it is right that the audience should cheer?
WHY….do you think that it is right that the audience should cheer???
Maybe your thoughts are along the lines of:

The corporation is an Imperialist, aggressor and does not have the right to take the poor inhabitants’ resources while driving them away from their homes.
The marines are wrong in defending the aggressor corporation and helping them achieve their Imperialistic goals with the power of the gun.
The humans who helped the inhabitants were doing the morally right thing in helping the poor defenseless inhabitants and are to be commended for doing so.

So you would not consider that the humans who aided the inhabitants are Treasonous, Communistic, Liberals who are stopping Capitalism and progress and the free market. Also you don’t consider those deserters as Antipatriotic Murderers for helping the inhabitants in killing half the marines and miners and destroying most of their equipment.
Also, you do not consider the inhabitants as TERRORISTS for attacking the corporation and the marines trying to stop them from carrying on with their business. Furthermore, it definitely did not cross your mind that the marines were correct in attacking the monkey people since they started the attack, and that the preemptive strikes the marines executed against the inhabitants to stop them from any future possible attacks were justifiable in order to defend the concerns of the corporation which after all is only practicing sound Capitalistic principles and is only going to bring benefits, good life standards, jobs, and pursuit of happiness to the humans.
Even the backwards monkey people would also benefit. Won’t they also eventually learn the ways of the humans and become space travelers and miners themselves and will eventually participate in the freedoms that the corporation is making possible. At the very least they may be allowed to open casinos…no?
Even if you do not agree with the atrocious things the corporation is doing to the blue monkeys, you need to support our human brothers, the marines, who are only doing their duty in defending their Planet and the human way of life…so we need to support them while they are there even if we do not agree that they should be there. To have some cowardly deserters do what the Avatar guys did is the ultimate in treason and is the most heinous unpatriotic thing possible and is the most horrendous crime…no?

Cognitive Dissonance is the mental conflict that occurs when beliefs or assumptions are contradicted by new information. The unease or tension that the conflict arouses in a person is alleviated by one of several defensive maneuvers:
1- Rejection of the new information.
2- Explaining away the new information.
3- Avoiding the new information.
4- Persuading oneself that no conflict really exists.
5- Reconciling the differences.
Or one resorts to any other defensive means of preserving stability and order in his conception of the world and of himself.
You may ask why do I say so…..well…..the fact that you are asking after reading all the above stuff is proof enough that you are suffering CD…. and of course….by definition…. you are not going to be able to understand the explanation which is between the lines in the above paragraphs in the first place.
One possible cure for CD is to have some doses of REAL knowledge of HISTORY and CONTEMPORARY events and politics…..However, the side effects of this medicine are heartache, restless conscious syndrome, high blood pressure, insomnia, liberalism, atheism, inability to see the glass as half full, incessant intelligent thinking…..but all these side effects also have a very palatable sure to cure medicine called TV.
We are in the 21st century and have gone to the moon and furthest expanses of Earth and STILL most humans on this planet are TRIBAL…… Tribalism leads to Cognitive Dissonance and inability to see RIGHT from WRONG….. right is what my tribe does and wrong is what the other tribes do.
Ignorance Is Definitely a BLISS
After all you said, you still didn’t answer the question of which tribe has the right to their own culture. How is that determined? Do they all then just start a whole new culture? All you did was raise questions and call people ignorant. The fact is that everyone has to be validated to be mentally stable. So what is right and wrong? I did not see the movie but often times people have attacked other cultures because their resources were running out or their governments were oppressive so they move on to another place. Should the people who move on have just stayed put and died? What is right and what is wrong? Won’t the more advanced culture always win out in such situations?

I thought the movie was a piece of trash with a liberal agenda that is typical of most Hollywood tripe these days.
A few of the rare and shocking movies to come out with opposite messages would be "The Last Samurai" and "300."
The Last Samurai was a great movie with pro-nationalism and pro-traditionalism messages.
"300" was very similar.
